How long could it take???

I recieved 4 RIR hens form a friend of mine. Well i decided to intergrate them. Problem is the other hens would attack the whenever they tried to eat or drink and if my rooster would try to mate them. I moved over all them mean hens and left the new ones in the pen with the rooster. he tries to call them to eat and made a nest for them but they wont come off the roost. How long do you think it will take them to adjust?

Did you try letting the new hens out to eat 15 minutes before the others, and then let your other girls out? They are going to peck each other to establish their pecking order. Best advice I got and it was from here was "unless you see blood or that one is gonna get beat down regardless, then don't interfere" We've lived by this now ever since we got chickens, and We have been able to integrated chicks, ducks, turkeys, and even roosters with no fail.
