How long did it take you to build your coop from start to finish?

I am so anxious to get our coop started. How long did it take you start to finish to complete your coop? We are thinking of doing an 8X12 in case I want to get a few more down the road

the 12 by 12 took 7 days to build.an that was working 3 orv 4hrs at a time.the 20 by 36 took about the same amount of time to redo.

Our coop is going to be 10x12 in size. We started on 4/19 and got the framing for the floor and some floor boards down and then came the rain. We do not work on Sundays so today,4/20, a friend from church came over and helped me with finishing the floor. pics online in coop forum, and again, then came the rain. I am not complaining at all about the rain but, I am starting to feel like I'm in the rain forest.

You can't really put a time limit on it, due to the weather changes, but if you have several days of good weather coming your way, you can probably get done in a day or two.

Ours is 8x8 and it probably took my husband a month or more. He is a perfectionist and it takes him twice as long as a normal man to do a job.

We only worked on it a couple of hrs at a time when weather permitted.

It started to rain the first weekend...

Hubby was driving semi back then and only home 6 days a month. I needed his help to build it so I had to wait for the weekends when he could make it home.

mine is 10x16. its not done yet; i've got about 20 hours in it and should be able to wrap it up with another 20 hours. I have to do it all myself as my helper is pregnant and cant be monkeying around with heavy lifting, etc.

Mine is a conversion of an old 12'x16' lean-to that had a dirt floor and was used for feeding horses. I had some demo work to do on the inside as well.

So far, with one weekend (8-10 hours per day in VERY cold weather) I have the concrete foundation pillars in and level, and all the floor joists in. I probably went overboard, but this was my first time building a floor, and I want it to last a long time.

I think it actually took longer because I was putting a floor inside an existing space, on a slope, and the lean-to was NOT constructed to exact dimensions (it's not the same width at each end, it's kind of lopsided).

My guess is I'll have about 60-70 hours into it by the time it's done. Geez, this chicken thing has gotten expensive (and addictive)!

Week 3 here and we are on the trusses. If the weather would cooperate we would have been done by now
