I've got three Australorps. I don't know how old one of them is but I do know that the others that I have are around 5 months old. How much longer do I have with my little beauties.

Hullo Chookipie! Beautiful looking birds too! Most (if not all) chickens can live between 10-15 years if you take good care of them. Hope it helps,
Sincerely, Pyotr

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on Pyotr Koecher; and Australorps have typically been among the longer lived breeds that I've had. If you take good care of them, you should have them around for years to come. :o) If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Welcome To BYC! It depends. If you're going to butcher them when they're done laying you're looking at 5 or 6 years. If you're looking at until old age gets them you've got a long time. They live about the same length maybe longer than most breeds. Which I've had a couple pet hens stay alive for 13 years. I also breed Black Australorps. I have 24 pullets and 1 cockerel. Out of all the breeds that I've raised Black Australorp is my favorite.
