I have some Texas A&M white coturnix that are about 1 1/2 years old. They seem healthy. The females are laying and the males are crowing. What's the life expectancy? They didn't lay all winter. Would that help them live longer?

Generally quail live 2 to 5 years in captivity, however they can live longer if given the proper care. 7 or 8 years is not impossible. Less protein, less laying, a good diet, quite environment and one where they can live the most natural life possible. I have female Bobs that will be 7 years old this year. Others have died at 4 years. It depends on the health of the bird, it's genetics, it's diet and environment.
