How long do ducks need to stay with there mothers.

Two of my female ducks have fertilized eggs that are going to hatch in around 1 week. There are about 20 eggs in total and we can not keep them all so how long do they have to stay with the mothers before they are ready to go to someone else? Also we have a drake will he attack the babies or will he protect them

The drake may or may not attack the offspring. Depends on their personality. Technically they can leave as soon as they dry off from hatching, provided they go to a proper brooder

Wouldn't hurt to give them overnight before sending them off. I'd def write up or print off how to care for ducklings if they are going to newbies. We have good info here just let us know and we'll point you to it.
