how long do eggs last in the fridge?

I'm a cook in the Military and when we get deployed on our ship we have eggs in refrigeration for up to 4 months and they were still good. I often keep a dozen eggs at home for at least 2-3 weeks because the aged eggs boil and peel SOOO much easier
