How long do eggs last?

Hiya all,

Does anyone here know as a general guide how long do eggs last and how to tell if an egg is gone off?

I know that the ones you get at the store are already two weeks old otherwise you wouldn't be able to peel them when hardboiled

I believe they have an expired date of one month so safely I would say 6 weeks is the max

I never really though about it until now, that we have a more or less constant supply of eggs...

Generally about 2-3 weeks unrefrigerated, up to 6 months in the fridge.
Depends on whether or not it has been washed, actual temp in the house and fridge.

Well the house is a fridge, so the eggs should stay nice and fresh, even frozen at times

If unsure, place egg in a full bowl of water. If it sinks its good, if it floats its bad.
