My chickens have started laying eggs now I just need to know how long are they good for. They dont come out with dates on the HEHE

Hello :)
I don't exactly know how long an egg lasts, but I think a while if it is kept in the fridge. I would check my eggs are ok by filling up a container or glass with water, it has to be at least full enough to be twice the height of the egg. Place the egg in and see if it floats or sinks. If the egg sinks it is good, and if it floats bad. We check all our eggs. In hope this has helped :)

Float test them if any doubts..always a good idea. Eggs for hatching are considered old after 2 weeks, they can easily be stored on the counter for eating for Four weeks under 60° much longer in the fridge, months if kept in sodium silicate, or if pretreated and stored in dry sawdust. You can write a date on them when you collect them, or the box you store them in! Eggs can be frozen as well not in the shell though.... :-)
