how long do eggs stay fertile?

as long as an egg is fertile when it is laid, it will always be fertile. Generally, the older the egg, the worse the hatch rate. But I have had broody hens hatch eggs that were as old as one month

Well, a hen will usually lay a clutch of 10 eggs to sit on so they stay fertile for at least that long (10 days). I don't really know after that.
