I HAVE 4 CHICKS THAT IM RAISING IN MY HOUSE, SO I WAS WONDERING WHEN DO LEAVE THEM IN THE COOP. DO I NEED THE HEAT LAMP ON 24/7 OR AT ONLY @ NIGHT? MY CHICKS ARE ALMOST 3WKS OLD. FROM BOULDER CO

You will need to leave the brooder light on them til they are fully feathered, or about 6 weeks old. Then they can go out into the coop. At 3 weeks, they should be at around 80 degrees constantly, 24/7. Lower the temp by 5 degrees each week till you reach room temp, or in the 60's.

im worried about the chicks in their coop during night time. If the temp drops to 50's and the lamp is on, can they die?
