How long do i throw away eggs when i'm medicating with tylan 50?

I rang the company that produces Tylan and they told me that in New Zealand their is no waiting period and they eat the eggs whilst they are threating the birds.

Here in Australia we have tougher laws, and it was suggested that having said what is above, it is totally up to me if i eat the eggs or not. However the technitian said he personally would wait 7 days before he ate them just to be sure.

Why does it say not to use in laying hens?

To the best of my knowledge there is no approved withdrawal period for laid eggs if Tylan is used on a laying hen as it's not an approved antibiotic for laying hens...

I have have waited 30 days when I used it, likely overkill in most peoples minds but for me tossing a few dozen eggs is a cheap piece of mind...
