I dusted my chickens with Hy-Yield Garden pet and livestock dust and I was wondering how long it would take to kill the mites on them. I think I read that I should dust them agian in 11 days, is that right? If so is it just the chickens or should I do the pen again also?

I use seven dust and they drop dead right then. You then re-treat in 10 days or so to get any newly hatching ones.

I use food grade diatamacius(sp) earth(de's) and it takes a few days, but you can still eat the eggs and there are no poisions. I also put this fossil dust in the nest boxes & on the floor.
