How long do shipped eggs need to rest?

I bought some EE eggs on eBay & received them today. How long do I need to let them rest before they go into the gator? Also, has anyone had success with hatching only females by storing eggs at 40 degrees? I read it on mypetchicken

Chicken eggs are male or female before they even get laid, so nothing you do will change that. However, storing them at 40 degrees may not be so good for them, it's just about what temperature a refrigerator is and could reduce hatchability.
I think that 12-24 hours rest after shipping is adequate.
