how long do silkies lay for

just curious, for how many years are silkies laying eggs?
someone told me they only lay eggs for 2 years and then stop, is that true?
just curious because I have 4 silkie hens that are 2 years old.
one is still laying, 2 are always broody but when there not broody they lay eggs like crazy.
but the fourth hasn't laid any egg this summer so I'm just thinking if this might be true or could she maybe be older then I was told?

It depends on the individual bird. However the amount of eggs they produce will decrease with age.

I have silkie who’s 5 years old and still occasionally lays eggs.

My oldest silkie is about 5 mos so I'm still waiting got her first egg.
