How long do we need to seperate the Roos to get purebred chicks?

We have 2 roo's, a barred rock and a dominique. We want to hatch out/sell some dominique eggs. How long do we need to have the Barred rock seperated from the hens to guarantee purebred dominique chicks? Thanks for your help!!

I think the roosters "seed" stays in the hen for 2 weeks

I believe to be safe it is recommended that you wait 30 days.

Hi Steffanie!
3 weeks is considered a 'safe time' to clear the hens system (a mating can last a long time).
After that time, it's safe to say your chosen 'new roo' is the only one fertilizing the eggs.
Can I get in line for Dom eggs?

Can any one tell me, If a hen has not been with a rooster and then she is bred, how many eggs would she lay before you get a fertile one? JB
