How long do you think this will last?

I just found a ten-lined June Beetle in the ladies room of my office building. How long do you think it'll last once it gets to my house? It's about 1.25 inches long & can fly.

Or should I let it go, since I've only seen once every 3 years or so...?

Beetles are a big favorite with my gals. They like the satisfying crunch I think. Go ahead and give it to them... a beetle that only comes along once every three years is an extra special treat! Treat your favorite hen or roostie.

My coworkers wanted to name him "Lew" but the chickens named him "Yummmmmmm". Nugget and Gwen fought over him. Nugget won out in the end and Yummmmmmm met his demise somewhere under the Japanese maple.

WOW! I haven't seen any of those here for several years! Wonder whats up? The ones we have here are probably about 2 1/2 to 3 inches, and they are all black. I bet your girls would go crazy for it. Like you said though, maybe you want to let it go because you haven't seen any recently.
