how long do your eggs last..?

i know this is a stupid question and im probably in the wrong section in the forum but im new to chickens and my hens are starting to lay, and i was wondering how long before your eggs go out of date..? and how do you know they are safe to eat..?

Well, your eggs will be much much fresher than any store eggs. Store eggs are usually at least a few weeks old. You can test your eggs by placing them in a glass of water. If they float they have gone bad.
