I’ve heard conflicting stories but how long can I feed my gosling on starter crumb? He’s 10 days old and I’ve obviously bought too much 🤣 it’s also got brewers yeast sprinkles on top when fed, thanks

I think the reason there are conflicting stories is that there can be variations in feed nutritional ratios among different brands of start and variations in genetics that cause gosling to absorb nutrients just a little differently, for example this year one of my goslings almost developed angel wing when her brothers and sisters were just fine with the protein percentage, it was too hot for her though.

Great thank you, 1 more thing, what’s considered bad diarrhoea for goslings? Mine seems to be the same colour of the crumbs he eats with sometimes white in it, but it comes out so fast I can hear it, when do I worry?

There is very little fibre in ceumbs and pellets so toull find that their poop is generally brown and sploshy if thats all they are eating...once you start introducing greens theyll begin to turn the colour and consistency youd expect goose poop to be; im not 💯% sure about when to worry but if there is lots of clear liquid in their poop i think thats supposed to be a bad sign

Ah that’s ok then there is definitely no clear liquid! Lol I wonder sometimes how he actually manages to grow! It’s straight in straight out 🤣

He'll be huge in about 2 months time - what breed was he again? I have giant exhibition toulouse, I think they're supposed to be the largest breed of goose available; On last weigh in Norbert was 1.5 stone.

The farm I got the egg from have Embden geese and Toulouse running around free range so it could be a mix of both I’ll have to wait and see lol

Toulouse should be a yellow colour with a hint of black in them with a black beak as goslings; as they age, they'll feather out into grey with an orange beak and legs.

Don't know what an embden gosling should look like but they're white with orange bill and legs when they grow up and tend to have blue eyes.
