How long does honey last

My Ma has bees and says honey lasts foever. YA RIGHT!! I've never had a jar last more than a few days here!!!
(Thoeretically, it never spoils.) I also read about the honey in the pyramid that was mentioned earlier...

Yea it's good, why do you keep it in the fridge though? Not necessary at all. It takes at least 6-8 weeks of consuming before the allergy benefits are there, eating pollen is much more effective, you should see if you can get that from your local source. Then you don't add calories either, just mix it in with something you drink in the morning or oatmeal.

honey that is made locally will help allergies. see if you can get it from someone pretty close to home.

Honey stays good for a very very long time. But..if it happens to get even a drop of water in it, it will spoil very quickly.

My mom bottled honey in 1979 and found one of the jars a couple of years ago.....still fresh, non-crystallized, wonderfully sweet honey!

There's no need to refrigerate honey, as a matter of fact, it will make it crystallize even faster if you do.

NEVER put honey in the microwave, if you care at all about the active enzymes. You liquefy honey put it in a pan of warm water, no warmer than 140 degrees. Anything warmer and you'll destroy the goodness of the honey, and a microwave will quickly burn it.

Keep your honey in a cupboard and enjoy it for as long as it lasts - it doesn't last long around here! :0

Honey never will go bad. It's supposed to help prevent an infection if put onto a wound. I haven't tried it because it would be too sticky!
