How long does it take a duck to get out of the egg?

This is my 2nd hatch of ducks and they should start hatching on the 28th. But today at 10a I noticed one starting to hatch. It had a small hole...now its 10p and the hole is a bit bigger. Since this is hatching early is there anything special I need to do? Do I just wait? How long is too long? Will it survive or is it under too much stress?

I had one hatch a day early, he still had some yolk left, but he absorbed it and did really well until two days later when he died

all I did was keep him moist.

and the 28th?, we're gonna be hatch buddies! I got 5 mallard eggs hatching on the 28th under a broody hen

Thank you for the replies. After having just a small hole since yesterday morning,(I was so worried) he hatched, I'm guessing about 30 min ago....of course we were not home! But so far he seems ok. Will try and post pic later.

It's been my experience that ducks take longer to hatch after they've pipped than chicks. I was worried, as well, when mine pipped but then did not hatch like my chicks did.
