I have a large flock made up of multiple different breeds, each of which have their respective rooster. I'm looking to quarter them off and breed in the future, as I have ample room for them to enjoy.

My main question is how long would it take for the purebred hen to have only the purebred rooster's sperm after being mated by multiple roosters? I need to know so I know how long to quarter them off. I've heard 3-4 weeks but that seems a bit long.

Interesting question! I'd read at least 4 weeks, but I'm not an expert, and I'll be darned where I read it.

Imma stick around and see the answer!

I wait 4 to 6 weeks after separating hens and adding a new rooster. Before I start collecting eggs to hatch. I usually stop hatching in June. I then start letting all my chickens out to free range together. After about a week of allowing them to reestablish a new pecking order. I start encouraging them to go in my large coop together for the rest of the summer and fall. I start dividing them back into breeding coops in mid November, early December. To start hatching in February
