how long does it take for chickens to get used to new feed

i changed there feed on tuesday to layer crumbles because they were wasting too much of the layer mash they are eating it like it is the same old feed. but i noticed today i only got 8 eggs from my regular 15-18 a day i usually get. maybe the just took a day off from laying.

I don't think it is your feed. I think they just took a Holiday. I actually feed pellets and they really cut down on the waste.
