How long does it take to digest food and water?

I have a sick chick and have been feeding her electrolytes with a syringe. Last night I fed her about 1/2 a cup over a 4 hour period. This morning, 10 hours later, her crop was still all squishy and felt full of liquid. How long should it take a chick to digest water? or food for that matter?

I am not an expert so I gave a bump for you. I would think giving a bit more info such as age, when you got the chick, how the chick arrived (mail?) and if you have others and their condition,and whether it ever ate would help.

Sour crop maybe? Do a BYC search and see if that meets your criteria...
