How long does it take to hatch??

Aww! I have 2.5 week chicks ( I don’t know why I said that tho) and hope you enjoy the ducklings! What is it like raising ducklings?
Good so far but had something happen earlier so might need to rehome them but seeing how things go. My little girl came out in red blotches that are itchy after holding them so I'm thinking its just the hair there shedding a lot of or the heat but got to see how things go before I do decide what to do. There lovely little things though

The sure are adorable. I’d leave the food and water in with them usually after about 24 hrs they begin to get hungry. What are you using for their water? If you go on fist page of the duck forum on left side top before threads start you’ll see the sticky’s scroll down till you see raising and caring for ducklings there is a pic of a homemade waterer perfect for keeping them from getting into turning over or getting wet and chilling. You might still have to show them both food and water to get them started.
Thank you I cut a plastic bottle and left the bottom bit for them earlier but the yellow spilt it all. Okay thanks will leave it in then and thanks for the link to the other page

I think one is dying. Not sure what's happening as it was fine last night its not moving much and if it does it falls on it side and not like yesterday when it was walking around fine. Its now doing nothing but laying down and falling on its side while its laying down

Just as I typed that I picked it up and it was okay it stretched it legs and just dropped dead :( not sure why it was fine last night and this morning. All of them was eating and drinking aswell

Does anyone think it might be because of the fumes from the paint? I was decorating yesterday but I had the ducks in the spare room and every window open. They are still open. I just don't get it as it was fine

I don't have a lamp but I have got a heating plate in with them but it doesn't say anything about that on the box it says suitable for any poultry and birds I have took it out for the day as its really hot and will put it back in later. I'm guessing its the paint I painted the two rooms near the room the ducks was in but I had windows all open all day and night so I'm not sure there fine if it was the paint wouldn't the other ducks be the same?

There fine

They are so adorable. Probably just something with this lil one that passed. If the others are fine hopefully they will stay that way. What about the temps in the room your keeping them in? They need to be at least kept around 80-85 for their first week.
