how long does it take

i have a flock that has a respirtory illiness i dont think i can stop the pread now. how long do i treat the birds with the antibiotic tetracycline. I have not lost one in two days but see others starting to lay around. they all have access to the treated water. one eye seems top get swollen on the really sick ones. do i open it and ley the puss run out?

Tetracycline is not the ideal choice for respiratory ailments. Tylan 50 is what is usually recommended. I believe the course is only 3 days long, but it is an injection rather than a 'by mouth' med.

Hopefully someone who knows more about respiratory illnesses will chime in. I have a zero tolerance policy, so I don't treat respiratory problems as a rule.
