How long does it take

for a hen to be back in condition after being in a breeding pen?
My poor silkie hens are half their normal fluffy size.

You talking about getting all the feathers/fluff back? It requires a molt.

You're lucky because 'tis the season for that, so, I'd say drop the protein or just wait, and she'll molt for you. Then as she does, you can increase it to aid the process.
