How long does it take???

How long does it take from the time a chick pokes its beak through the shell till its fully hatched or is able to get out.

Usually happens within 24 hours, but can take up to 48 hours. I've had some pip and exit the shell within 30 minutes and others take as long as a day and a half.

If the pipped egg was exposed to air (e.g., by the incubator being opened), the chick could get shring-wrapped and be unable to escape from the egg.

Oh O.K, thanks, my eggs are under a broody and Ive already lost one chick due to because it couldn't escape the shell so i was just wondering in case another one take way to long. The chick that gave up was only at it for a day though.
