I generally find that it takes three days from first duckling to hatch until the last one does.

How long do yours usually take from first to hatch to last to hatch?

For my AWA certification I have to remove the ducklings at no more than 36 hours old. This means that my early birds have to be removed from the incubator while the bulk are hatching and I don't like to open the incubator. I am being told that my incubator has temp fluctuations or hot and cold spots that must be causing the issue.

I have a cabinet incubator with three thermometers in it and rotate the eggs front to back and from top shelf to bottom shelf weekly. The temp has not fluctuated that I have seen and I check it three times per day. I think ducklings just take their sweet time hatching. I don't want to loose my certification and I don't want to open up the incubator while ducklings are hatching. If I can prove that they take that long to hatch I can get a pass on that one requirement. I have been hatching for four years now and have hatched hundreds of healthy ducks, guinea, quail and geese.

Help!

I only have a few hatches for my ducks. Both ducks and turkey's seem to span 3 days from first to last. Last duck hatch was 4. I use a brinsea 380 for my incubator.

Up to 3 days in an incubator but less than when naturally brooded. What is AWA certification ?
