I've had my pair of quails (yes one male and one female) and they haven't started laying! they have been mating and he has pooped foamy poop so I believe its about time! Ho much longer will it take for them to hatch? could there be a reason they are taking so long? maybe their pen is not ideal? help): I want them to be comfortable and healthy so I can hatch their babies!!!

They can start laying eggs at 6 weeks if they're coturnix quail. They also need enough hours of light per day, and if you've recently moved them they often stop laying for a while. Other than that I don't have enough info to help more.

Give them time. One or half week. It seems that your roo is adult now. Give them extra light 14-16hrs a day. If they are happy the hen will lay egg very soon.. Just wait.
