how long for eggs to hatch?

So i can hear some chirps and see some cracks how long does it take for the chicks to make it out? this is my first hatch

From pip, usually a few hours... some will drag it on for over 24 hours though... so it all depends..

From pip, usually AT LEAST 12 hours. In my experience anyway. So don't be too quick to worry or to think you have to steam in there and 'help' them to hatch. Some of them even take well over 24 hours, like CCourson says. They all have their own little timetables, so just try to sit back and relax and give them time to do their thing...

Some eggs will take as long as 48 hours from pip to hatch. 24 is a good general number, but know some are just slow to absorb the yolk sack.
