I woke up at 2am to the sounds of chirping, but I see no pips:( How much longer do I have to wait on the little guy before he decides to make an entrance? On pins and needles, checking the bator every few minutes through the glass (just to make sure I didn't miss anything!).

Thanks!

I'm know mine was for hours before I finally seen an external pip. Some of mine just seemed to do it all at once. The few that took a little longer hatched out just fine though.

We've had 4 hatch since we saw the first pip yesterday at around 1 pm.

Pip at 1 pm hatch around 5:15am

Pip at 5:15 pm hatch at 1 am

Pip at 6:30 pm hatch at 5:45 am

Pip at 1:30 am hatch at 8 am

So, from pip to hatch has been anywhere from 6 1/2 to 15 hrs or so.

It's often 24 hours from internal to external pip. If I don't have others pipped and I know its been over 24 hours, I put a small hole in the top of the egg to give them some air. Then at the end, I'll help them if they are alive and haven't hatched. I only help ones towards the end of the hatch, and only will open the bator if there are no chicks pipped or hatching.
