I'm so nervous and know this has been discussed....just can't think straight to look. I have 4 out of 6 eggs pip this afternoon. They are 2 days early.

How long does it usually take from pip to zip? I want my grandson to join me but we planned this for the weekend. Should I bring him over today?

Not long after I posted this, our power went off. It rarely goes off and this was never a concern. We waited about half an hour and when the temp dropped to 97 in the incubator, I about flipped. Hubby finally started doing all the things that need to be done to hook up a generator.

By the time he got it running the incubator was down to 96. I could have cried. Well, it came back up to temp and 3 hours later we have a chick! Soooo awesome!

Sending happy chickie vibes for a great hatch! This has really been fun. Are you in lockdown?

I've had a few go 24 hours or more, I've also had a few take significantly less. But once they pip, I have a hard time sleeping! I hope your grandson makes it over to see at least one hatch.
