How long from "squat" to eggs????

my 7 older girls are 21 weeks today.... They began the "squat" about 4 days ago. How long before I see THE EGG?????

I had some that squatted at 18 weeks and eggs came 2 weeks later. Others squatted and eggs came a few days later. Depends on the chicken - but you're getting closer! Good luck! Be sure to post that first egg picture

Generally they'll start the squatting, then you'll see deepening of the red in comb, face, and wattle. Once you see the reddening, you'll have eggs in a week or less in my experience. The sqatting could be weeks ahead of lay, or not ...

I got squat on Friday and had an egg Saturday afternoon. Have a nest ready!
Wait, is that where the term came from? you know, 'I have squat'-meaning nothing?
