How long have you been a chicken owner?

I've been raising chickens for around 6 years this past March.

3 chicks- a RIR, Barred Rock, and Australorp. Doing well in their second, larger brooder and I'm working on their coop/run.

I think the chicken math gets everyone. I started with 5 and now have 10!!

Started with 6, too many, went down to 2. Lost 1 to a hawk, got a replacement, lost one to a egg issue, got a replacement. Decided we needed an emergency standby chicken, got a third. Just agreed to take one of the 18 my brother is hatching. Will be to 4. We will have to be disciplined and stop there, lol.

Chicken math. Whatcha gonna do.

Haha! I agree! I started with five and couldn't stop adding on! Now I have 10!

Started with 4, got 2 more, lost 2 to opossums, rescued 2, got another 2, butchered one of those because he almost killed another chicken, got 4 more, lost one again, got a roo added 9 chicks. So now there are 19
