How long is normal between internal and external pip?

Baby 3 is being a slowpoke about hatching. I was able to candle through the incubator earlier and he's for sure internally pipped. That was at 10am this morning. It's now almost 7pm and no progress. I'm sure he's fine - Oogity Boogity took all day between one tiny pip and coming out.

Is there a time when I should worry for the little guy? His brothers were in the brooder. I've since put them back in the incubator while I work out some heat issues in the brooder. The two hatchlings have been in there for about two hours now.

Consider checking to see if the chick is stuck to the membrane preventing more progress. There is no set time between internal and external pipping; too many factors involved.
A milky white membrane is a definite sign that it's too soon for hatching.

And then she hatched! She's hold instead of black, and TINY compared to the others. But I didn't have to help! Go her!
