How Long is Too Long?

I was thinking about the freshness of eggs and wondering how long before a fertile egg goes in-viable?

I mean, don't hens wait to brood until they get about 10 eggs or so? How long can you store eggs and at what temperatures before the eggs become useless?

Just something to ponder on a Monday morning...
