Egg is hatching and is cracked, it moving but it has been about 1 hour and baby dove is not out. Should I help to break the shell? Egg is in incubator with temperature of 99.5f and humidity of 67%. Today is 16th day

Has the chick zipped (broken shell and membrane around the circumference of the egg)? Which end of the egg did it pip on? A picture would be helpful.

I’m new to this site, I can see the picture that i attaches yesterday don’t know why it’s not published. No zipping yet it has been 11 hrs now

Start assisting. Begin breaking some shell off. Then put cooking oil on the membrane with a q-tip. It will make the membrane see through. If the membrane has visible bright red veins, wait several hours. If it is yellowish with no or receded veins, you can start pulling away the membrane. If you see blood, immediately put cornstarch on the bleeding area and wait several hours.

It looks to me that the egg was dropped and broken. The end looks crushed in. Who else plays with the incubator?

It’s

Looks like it was starting to zip but then got stuck. The cracking is normal. My button quail eggs look the same. The shell is so brittle is breaks when they start hatching. IS it struggling to get out or just rocking? Can you see it's beak? I would start helping, they exhaust quickly

Thanks for your suggestions it’s out
