How long past 21 days has a chick hatched successfully?

One of the reasons I do the eggtopsies is incase there is a live one still in there. Don't want to throw away a living creature. Come to think of it. I actually had one still alive and with yolk atached still. I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and put it back in the bator and kept the towel damp. When it absorbed the yolk it came out of the paper towel. An easy hatch for that one and it did live. I had forgotten about that one. Matter of fact. I have several of her chicks in a brooder and more in the incubator. She just went to a new home yesterday.

Now that's super. And makes clear why one must check. I can tell you I was not looking forward to it but as it might save a chick...
I have my incubator in my room also, and check it at night if I get up ( I usually do) this happened just after Christmas, I was not here for part of the day ..Which figures of course. I am usually more concerned with power outages if I have to leave for a few hours, not this.

I'm hoping and praying for the best! I've had an egg hatch at day 24 before which were some houdans I was hatching for someone else of their eggs....I don't know but it was 24 and the temps were even!

Happy New Year's.

Happy new year one and all.
Make it a safe and good one.

I have three eggs in lock down right now that were due the 28th. I took them out last night and they were all moving inside. I had a couple of power outages so I am hoping they are just a couple days behind. Good luck with yours.

108 was too high and I have no idea how long it was. I am starting more tomorrow. Wish me luck. *sigh* It breaks the heart.
Happy New Year everyone, may all your hatches go well.
