Yesterday morning, I got a 3-month-old hen (half Silkie, half ???) from a woman I work with. I brought her home and put her in a separate coop outside of my regular coop.

How long should she remain in quarrantine if she appears to be a completely healthy and strong bird.

I currently have 3 Bantam hens and a Bantam rooster that are all healthy.

The new hen is just dying (not literally) to get out with my other chickens and free range in the yard. [IMG] I was thinking that I'd keep her in quarrantine until Sunday morning. Does that sound reasonable?

The rule is 30 days. Unfortunately you can not be sure what she is or is not carrying. The stress of the move can cause things to present.

    I wish you well,
