    Hi everyone,
We had a flock of 3 very nice chickens, and unfortunately 2 of them met their maker two days ago. Apart from the sadness of losing the chickens, I also feel very bad for the one remaining. I know that chickens don't do very well living solo, and we are working on getting her some friends very soon. However, we're going away for the weekend and might not be able to get her friends until next week. Is that too long to wait, or is it OK for her to live alone for a week or two?

    thanks!
    Michelle

She'll be fine for only a week. But as soon as you can is best.

Sorry for your loss. You're right that chickens are social creatures and need companionship of other chickens. But since you'r going away and can't get her a friend..... I dunno..... How old is she? Does she seem OK and eating right?? I guess my answer is I dunno. Here's a little bump.
