how long till they lay???

how long will it take till my rhode island red pullets start to lay i am really looking forward to getting some eggs this spring

most chickens start laying at about 4-6 months of age but I have had chickens that didnt start laying until they were almost a year old

I have 2 hens that I swear have been laying eggs for 4 years maybe 5.You know how the years just blend into each other as you get older.I just amazes me.
