How long till you know

I am wondering. We took in a couple of what turned out to be Roos from a neighbor, but they appeared to be 12-14 weeks at least when we got them 6 weeks ago. One of them just started crowing yesterday.

Its fine we needed the boys, but at what point can you tell boy or girl? Were they way younger than they seemed when we got them? I ask mostly cause I have my chicks growing and need to start deciding which of the 24 are boys so I can plan for who we keep.

I know this sounds nuts but post the ones you think are cockerels in picture form and you will have a lot better answers. Hell post all one by one and you guess and the board will let you know their opinions I am sure of that.
