How long would you guys think it would take for a brahma to get to exhibition age? I know how long for most chickens, but I think brahmas take a little longer since they are so large. Thanks in advance!

Large breeds can take up to 2 years to fully mature. Brahma should reach sexual maturity, and begin to lay at 6-9 months of age. That's the age I would shoot for.

. Atleast for my fair all the chickens have to be purchased before March 15 so people can show a 5 month old chicken. But id wait until they are at laying age 8 or 9 months.

As someone who has showed small scale at fairs as a kid and won best of show a couple times, it's best to wait. A good line of Brahmas won't be full grown for 1-2 years. My Brahmas would have not even been fully feathered in by 6 months because they're so slow to mature. Since they take so long to fill out, I would at absolute minimum wait until they're 8-9 months and even then I can't imagine them placing very highly. My birds looked best at 2-3 years old I felt.
