I have 4 broody hens, who are very determined. I think they have been broody about 2 months, tho it has been a busy time and I haven't kept track, nor really made any attempt to break them up, other than gathering eggs from under them and making them get off the nest 3 or 4 times a day. Finally got tired of it and put them in an unused tractor I have. They have feed and water, and part of it is covered for shelter, but no nests. They are very upset, clucking around, but aren't sitting on the ground, --they are standing, but still pretty fuzzed up and clucking. I put them there yesterday. Anyone have any idea how long till I can put them back in the regular pen, and they will quit sitting in the nests? I guess I can just toss them back in, in a few days and see what happens, but wondered at others experiences at breaking up broodies.
