How long to get used to a saddle?

Took mine about a day do get used to them. Some walked backwards, trying to back out of it, some reached around and tried to bite it, some just acted like it was nothing. I have several with saddles on now and they're just fine with them.

I'm guessing you can't put sunscreen on a chicken. Chemicals and such.

Still, one of those bottles of spray sunscreen must be tempting....

You know what I did with one particular RIR whose bare back was flaming red from sunburn? I used that white greasy A&D zinc oxide ointment for diaper rash. That protects, moisturizes, etc. Might help your girl in addition to the saddle.

I threatened to put a garlic marinade on mine it got so hot here!

I've also thought about buying her one of those little doggy t-shirts and cutting the sleeves off. Let's see the booger get out of that!
