How long to heat brooder before chicks come?

I'm using a 100 watt basking spot bulb, and I'm wondering if I need to heat the brooder for a full 24 hours before adding chicks or if I just need to get the temp to a consistent 95?

Just get it to temp. I always test my set up a few days before chicks then turn the lamp on when I leave to go get them.
