How long to keep rocks in waterer?

I had 7 quail hatch out Sunday. I was just wondering how long I need to keep the rocks in their water to keep them from drowning.

I usually keep mine in there a week and have had no problems.

I also kept mine in for a week.

For quail, you may want to go a little longer especially if you're not using a quail waterer. Keep an eye on them and see how they do and how clumsy they are. You can usually tell if they'll be ok without the rocks/marbles.
