I have older guineas that free range. I plan of getting some juveniles. Is it the same amount of time they have to be caged before I let them out with the others? I'm wondering if they will be more likely to stay because they see the rest of the flock all day while they are in the coop.
Thanks

6 wks is the normal length of time that's recommended so that the new birds learn where home/safety is (and the older birds can get used to the younger birds, thru wire... the more exposure they have to each other the better the chance of a successful integration), but if your older flock accepts the younger birds sooner than that you may get away with caging the young birds for a shorter time. I'd make sure your adult flock fully accepts them before you turn the younger birds loose tho, or the older flock my run the younger flock off.
