How long to wait to eat eggs after antibiotics were given?

I had a 1 week old chick that almost succumbed to pasty butt. But i took it inside and washed her butt under warm water, then GENTLY massaged her intestines to bring out any more backed up waste. Never saw so much chicken poopy from one bird....this little chick survived, and it was really gross, having to do that..I had to work the backed up intestines 3 more times. People that raise thousands of chicks (not all pl but most) woukd have let it die. Not worth their time. I only have 145 birds, but I take care off each one, including a little chick like that., its good animal husbandry, and you shoukdnt just toss away a life because it is a hassle. Or because the other birds might get sick, them create something for sick birds.
I believe we were all created equally however chickens are smarter and more compassion than alot if people on here

Hi, I raise chickens and quails - truly small-stakes though (only 5 chickens & 5 quails). I had to give my quail antibiotics for 2 weeks - clavamox (so strong stuff) - prescribed by the vet for a wound she sustained. Less than a week after she was off, I ate an egg of hers (along with other eggs that tasted delicious from the other hens), and it was disgusting. I still taste the chemicals in my mouth. I had thought around a week would be enough. After reading this, I suppose I was wrong.

Now, after reading this thread, I feel nauseated thinking I ate that much antibiotics in one dose. How badly off am I?

(PS - I know this thread is old, but I see some recent answers - so asking on here)
