How long to your chickens wear the Saddles?

Dealing with a torn side from a rough rooster, going to make saddles this weekend, My question how long do they wear them? I know they will need to be changed and washed, but will this be all year if he doesn't be nice to them or till he goes in the crock pot?

I'd also look at removing rooster spurs or toenails that are too long and sharp.... but I would be careful.

Good idea, better train him while he is still fairly young... he is only 30 weeks old now, so spurs not to big yet, but will take a look at toenails tomorrow.

How do you train them? And what are saddles?
My roo doesn't have big spurs, but he's so rough that the girls are back-bottom bald. They've got to be feeling the draft on cold mornings.

Well, I got the instructions, but for some reason, I can't open the pictures to see what I'm needing to make. I'll try from home since it's probably the security settings at work.
Thanks though! I may just end up making a separate pen for the roosters.
